Using the Silk Route as a guide-line through regions filled with a history of conflicts and therefore facing an uncertain future.
Nothing is taken for granted during this long term project apart from Istanbul being the starting point and Peking the final
destination. It's a photographic journey - call it an odyssey if you must - through territories populated by communities driven
apart by conflict. Conflicts in every sens of the word: In conflict with the rest of the world for example, simply for being Muslim.
In conflict with their own traditions and believes because of the urge to become westernized.
The journey began in October 2008:
-stage 1: Turkey "Istanbul and Southeast Turkey" 10/2008
-stage 2: Turkey "Southeast Turkey" 02/2009
-stage 3: China "Beijing, Xining, ..." 05/2009
-stage 4: India "Kashmir, Delhi, Patna, ..." 10/2009
-stage 5: China "Xinjiang province" 02/2010
-stage 6: "Armenia & Nagorno-Karabakh" 10/2010 (new)
-stage 7: "Nepal & Kashmir" 02/2011 (new)
End of the journey planned for the end of 2012.
